The warp9bikes.com-Tristar team was back in action on March 8th and took home another victory. The race was held near Steele, Alabama and featured a rolling course and finished on top of a 1 mile ascent up Chandler Mountain-which boasts an average gradient of 17% according to the U.S. Geological Survey Maps! The racing started out at a fairly tame pace, with no one anxious to get going hard too early. Going into mile 11, however, the attacks went and a break of 7 riders formed. The break included Mike Olheiser and Travis Sherman from the warp9bikes.com-Tristar team and 5 other riders from different teams. The break rolled well together. Ty Stanfield (Inferno Racing) decided to test everyone's legs with out 15 miles to go and Wes Douglas (Tria) and Mike Olheiser responded and the trio quickly rode away from the break. Ty, once again, decided to test the legs of the break and this drew a reaction from Mike Olheiser who matched Ty's move and then countered. Mike rode away from both Ty and Wes and soloed to the victory on top of Chandler Mountain, giving warp9bikes.com-Tristar the 5th win of the season!
