Welcome to the new warp9bikes.com/Tristar racing team! We are a brand new team here in the southeast. The team is made up of riders from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee. The team has riders ranging from the every day "club" rider that is only wanting to be a part of a group all the way up to the category 1 racer.
We pride ourselves on getting away from the "Elitest" model that most clubs follow, where you don't ask them to join-they ask you. Our club and team is open to anyone that wants to be a part of a group, that is willing to help contribute to the group (finding sponsors or taking on active role in the club) and is willing to promote and represent the sponsors. Whether you are a category 5 or a category 1 racer, we are all equal. We are a developmental team that, in conjunction with Tristar, has a focus on developing the younger cyclist. However, we are a developmental team for any one that wants to improve. We understand that to each person, his or her cycling is important to them and that each person has goals. Regardless of what those goals are, we want to have a structure and support network in place that allows and encourages each person to achieve their personal goals-regardless of whether that goal is getting out of the category fives or being in the Tour de France! Since we are a new club and a new team, we will have growing pains. Some stuff will be done by trial and error to see what works and what doesn't work. We admit that we won't or can't be all things to all people. We also realize that cycling, for most, is a hobby and that the well intentioned plans of racing at the beginning of the year may be wiped out when "life" happens. We intend to be a low pressure organization. If you can race 100 races, that's great. If you can only do 2 races, that's great too. Since we require that all people purchase their team kits and pay the team dues, there is no expectation to meet a certain minimum races. If you do, however, meet certain race minimums, there may be reimbursement of some, all or above what you paid for your clothing-depending on availability of funds. Any reimbursements will be based on the number of races you do, the level of races you do, whether or not you move up to different categories and how active you are in helping bring in sponsors to the team. Essentially, we all start out at the same level and we let the "road" separate us. If this sounds like something you are interested in, regardless if you do 1 race or 100 races in a year, feel free to contact us or visit the team website. |
